"all things are full of weariness; a man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing nor the ear filled with hearing. what has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun." -ecclesiastes 1:8&9

oh charles,
you were (and still are) a wise man.
"Many men owe the grandeur of their lives to their tremendous difficulties."
and also,
"The Lord gets His best soldiers out of the highlands of affliction." - Charles Spurgeon
hmmm, very true. whenever i think about this, though, i wonder how far to take it before it becomes stoicism. is it good to try to seek out difficult situations in order to be in the highlands of affliction? do you get what im trying to say?
