on melville

he is the most boring writer in the history of the world. i was going to give moby-dick a chance this summer, but after taking nearly two and a half hours (and counting!) to finish on of his monotonous and excruciatingly painful short stories he has lost his chance. too bad, so sad, melville.

  1. I liked Moby Dick. But I also I like Hemingway, and most people find him dry.

  2. haha, thanks for your honest assessment of Melville. I haven't attempted to read any of his works yet, so i have nothing of literary value to add to this conversation. except that i liked Hemingway's Old Man and the Sea.

  3. I may still give Moby Dick a try just because it's a classic and I feel like it deserves a try. However, he has lost all of my confidence in his short stories. Just saying :D
